After careful consideration by our admissions and treatment team, students are placed based on the level of structure and support they require and have the opportunity to progress through this continuum.
Residential Program
Our Residential Program provides a safe, predictable, structured setting where students focus on improving social and daily living skills, managing emotions, controlling behaviors, and forming habits that will lead them to a less restrictive environment. A daily schedule outlines each activity and clearly states student expectations and responsibilities. Staff directly supervise and advise throughout the day providing immediate reinforcement and constant feedback.

Transitional Living
The Transitional Living Program at Waterfall Canyon Academy is designed to give young adults who are still in need of structure an opportunity to learn and apply skills and abilities with increased interactions within the “real life” community. With support and guidance, students are encouraged to establish and develop a weekly calendar, make daily life choices, and face the results in a supportive and focused atmosphere. We have found this experience is very helpful for students prior to returning to their home, or moving on to a less structured environment.

Advanced Transitional Living
It is the goal of Waterfall Canyon Academy’s Advanced Transitional Living Program to prepare young men to be independent and self-reliant. Our A.T.L. Program consists of 13 fully equipped studio apartments, a common area, staff offices, and onsite laundry facilities. The building is exclusively used for our young men and is staffed 24 hours a day including awake overnight staff. With the support of a Community Advisor, students work on goals regarding education, vocation, employment, finances, transportation, and future living arrangements.

Support Services
Many of our students who complete the WCA Independent Living Program wish to remain in the Ogden area to complete an educational program or maintain employment they have enjoyed. Support Services is designed to provide those students an opportunity to live in their own apartment with continued therapeutic services, supportive mentoring, and maintaining meaningful relationships they have formed with other students and staff.
